Before any of it was about marketing, it was about the gym. Zack came up through physical fitness — he trained, he coached, and he went on to own and run gyms. Kurt grew up doing martial arts and has been a lifelong practitioner. Different disciplines, same world: we both spent our formative years sweating it out under one roof, learning what it actually takes to build something people show up for.
So when we got into digital marketing, we started where we knew best — gyms and fitness businesses. We built websites, ran the ads, and grew our own businesses the hard way, by doing it. And it worked.
From there we wanted more reps. We took on roles in industries well beyond the gym floor — bigger businesses, more complex problems, higher stakes. That's where we each went deep. Zack specialized in branding, content, and social — the craft of making something look and feel unmistakably like you. Kurt specialized in the technical side: websites, paid ads, email, and SEO — and, as the technology matured and the businesses got bigger, expanded into AI, automation, and data when clients started demanding it.
Then we put the two halves back together. That's DGTL Depot: an agency where the brand work and the technical work aren't handed off between vendors — they're built by the same two people, in lockstep. Beautiful, on-brand campaigns that are also technically sound and driven by real data. Most agencies are good at one or the other. We refuse to choose.
